How I work

Liquid doesn't throw errors. When something breaks it renders empty, and the page still looks fine. So when I review a build the question isn't "does it error?" — it's "what would this look like if it quietly did nothing?"

That question has caught things a clean console never would. An add-to-cart firing a request to a section that couldn't render outside the cart template. A cart drawer whose stylesheet was never loaded by the header it lived in — perfect on the cart page, unstyled everywhere else. Both one-line fixes, and both the kind of thing a merchant finds on launch day instead.

I use Claude Code daily and it makes me considerably faster at scaffolding, tests and documentation. I check its output against the code rather than the summary, the same way I check my own. Knowing where the tool is wrong is part of using it well.

Beyond that, the unglamorous parts: pull requests someone else can actually review, estimates I stand behind, risk raised early rather than at handover, and trade-offs explained in language a client can act on.
